Getting to Zer0

” Getting to ZERO ” that was the Theme of the project which Roa Shababeya initiative held on Sunday regarding the World AIDS Day 2011 . .

1- ZERO new HIV infections.

2-ZERO discrimination

3-ZERO AIDS-related deaths

4-ZERO tolerance for gender-based violence.

Such a topic to be discussed in public was a challenge for the team as too many people think that there are no HIV cases recorded in Yemen ; so it was a bit hard to talk about it and educate people about such a thing …. but surprisingly many people in the street positivly responded to the campaign . . the campaign was divided into many parts . . a chairty dish and the income money would go to people who live with AIDS/HIV and also educational and awareness part which was like questions to the community and who would answer them correctly would get a present ( a game about AIDS )

too many leaflets were distrbutied about the same topic also almost everyone passed in the street that day wore the Red Ribbon plus people wrote their message to the AIDS holders and another message as if they were AIDS holders . .

although this event was prepared in less than 5 days but it amazingly Succeeded

and it is all because of the high spirit of  Roa shahbabeya’s family  . .

with such youth spirits i am sure that Yemen is in a very good and caring hands

  1. It is very important today to have such caring young people in Yemen, who want to make a difference not only in their lives but also, in their community as well.

    Best of luck
